About Cinda Sue
Cinda Sue is an artist of many talents and an
endless store of creativity. From formal art with a focus on
portraiture and figuratives, to interior design elements of
faux and mural painting, or decorative art, Cinda Sue is at
home behind the palette.
Cinda Sue began her training in illustration at Butera
School of
Art in
Boston, MA, in the late sixties, and later through a correspondence
course with
the Famous Artist School. She undertook further study with Dorisjean
Colvin at the Redmond School of Art, Redmond, WA, and with Gary
Fagin in workshops at
the Realist School of Art, Seattle, WA; completed Stuart Parks Forensic
Training; and has participated in workshops with Barbara
Newton, color
pencil artist.
Cinda Sue's professional career began in 1991 doing
pencil
portraits, and branching out the following year into pastels, a medium
she fell in love with and has embraced ever since.
Retirement, in 2004, from a 25-year career in the field of
accounting, afforded Cinda Sue the opportunity to pursue her preferred
carreer in the arts, full time, and to expand her creative endeavors
into the exciting fields of interior design and decorative arts.
Cinda Sue lives and works in the Pacific Northwest, on
San Juan Island in Washington state. Painting, writing and
grandchildren are her
passions. She is a
member of the Northwest Pastel Society, American Society
of Portrait Artists, Portrait Society of America, Society of
Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and the San Juan Islands
Artist Community. She
has shown at Island Studios, Friday Harbor, WA and Scott Milo Gallery,
Anacortes, WA; participates annually in the San Juan Island
Artists' Studio Tour in June, and ArtStock in October.
